Music Lessons

Our programs include Piano, Guitar and Fretted Instruments, Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion, Voice, and more. Students receive personalized instruction from experienced teachers in a positive and encouraging environment, with opportunities to develop technique, musicianship, confidence, and performance skills. Whether learning for fun, preparing for RCM examinations, auditions, competitions, or performances, each student is supported in reaching their individual musical goals.

Music Lessons & Programs – All Ages & Levels

Ava Music offers a wide variety of music lessons and programs for children, teens, and adults, from first-time beginners to advanced students. Our experienced instructors provide engaging, personalized instruction while helping students develop technique, confidence, creativity, musicianship, and a lifelong love of music.

Piano & Keyboard:
Our piano program welcomes students from beginner to advanced levels. Lessons include note reading, rhythm, technique, ear training, theory, sight-reading, musical expression, and performance skills. Students may learn for enjoyment or prepare for RCM examinations, festivals, competitions, auditions, and performances.

Guitar & Fretted Instruments:
Students can explore Acoustic, Classical and Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, and other fretted instruments. Lessons cover chords, note reading, rhythm, technique, accompaniment, improvisation, and different musical styles, including Classical, Pop, Rock, and contemporary music.

Strings:
Lessons are available in Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass. Students develop proper posture and technique, beautiful tone, sight-reading, musical expression, and performance skills. Programs are available for recreational learning as well as RCM and advanced study.

Winds & Brass:
Instruction is available for instruments such as Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and more. Students work on breathing, tone production, technique, music reading, repertoire, and performance, including support for students participating in school bands and ensembles.

Drums & Percussion:
Our Drum and Percussion lessons develop rhythm, coordination, timing, technique, and musical creativity. Students can explore Rock, Pop, Jazz, and contemporary styles while learning to play independently and as part of an ensemble.

Voice & Singing:
Vocal lessons focus on healthy singing technique, breathing, pitch, tone, vocal range, expression, confidence, and stage presence. Students can explore Classical, Pop, Musical Theatre, and contemporary repertoire and prepare for auditions, performances, competitions, and examinations.

Orff & Kodály Early Childhood Music:
Our Orff & Kodály program introduces young children to the joy of music through singing, movement, rhythm, musical games, percussion instruments, and creative activities. Children develop listening skills, coordination, pitch awareness, rhythm, confidence, and important early musical foundations in a fun and interactive environment. It is an excellent first step before beginning private instrumental lessons.

Musical Theatre:
Our Musical Theatre program brings together singing, acting, movement, and stage performance. Students develop vocal technique, character development, storytelling, stage presence, confidence, teamwork, and performance skills while working with songs and scenes from musical theatre. Programs are designed for different age and experience levels and provide opportunities for students to experience the excitement of performing on stage.
